Pinterest Interview SCMS

By your amazing Nevaeh Zumbrun 😀

Pinterest Club is run by Mrs. Lampton and Mrs. A. Clark. In Pinterest Club, a group of 6th through 8th graders make little crafts shown on the Pinterest app. These include slime, crafts related to the month, and much, much, more! The Pinterest Club is very interesting and fun!

Mrs. Lampton has been teaching sixth grade for two years and she is a very lovely teacher! Here are some things we asked her!

What do you do in Pinterest club?

“Well, every month we do a different craft. At the beginning of this year, we brainstormed what things we can do, and I just picked out some of those things out. I try to do something different every month.”

How many people are in the Pinterest Club?

“I think twenty-eight people.”

When did the Pinterest Club start?

“This year.  This is the first year, and we started sometime in September.”

Why did you decide to start the Pinterest Club?

“I love doing crafts.  I thought that there is probably a lot of students that like to do crafts as well, so I decided to start the Pinterest club.” Thank you Mrs.A.Clark and Mrs.Lampton for being here for us!  We love you!

Goodbye Mrs. Burns!

Mrs. Burns has been covering 6th Grade Science for Mrs. Spence, who has been out with her new baby, and will be leaving us on Friday, February 15.

Mrs. Leah Burns
6th Grade Science Interim

Mrs. Burns, what would you like to say to the SCMS Family?

“To the students and staff at SCMS, I would just like to say how grateful I am for the experiences and how proud I am of my students.  I have watched each of them attempt to do hard things and they have learned and grown from those attempts. I hope they will continue to make good choices and to never give up on accomplishing those goals they set for themselves.
Thank you all!!!”

Mrs. Odom: Teacher of the Year

By Chloe Baker and Jordan Batey

What did you think when you got Teacher of the Year?

Mrs. Susan Odom
7th Grade Social Studies

“It was a great honor, and it was totally unexpected. It is satisfying when one’s peer educators recognize the hard work, effort, and energy put into classes and extracurricular activities.”

How long have you taught, and where have you taught?

“This is my fourteenth year teaching. I have taught in four different states and five different schools.”

What is your favorite part about teaching students?

“My favorite part about teaching is when we have critical discussions. I love it when I get to see the students’ ‘aha moments’.”
